What do you do when things slow down?

Good morning! I was thinking about what I do when things get slow. What do you do? For a while, people in my office moped and complained about how slow business was and how much they hated what they did. Now, there are so few left (we're down to 5 from a high of 16) that it's a lot quieter and not as much of a problem.

I consider myself lucky. For some reason I was chosen to do what I do. And I love it. Yes, business could be better although at the moment I'm working on more loans than ever. I think the key is I don't really allow myself to stop and think about where I am. And, compared to others lot in life, I'm a pretty lucky guy!

I'm curious what you do when you find yourself with little or no business. Do you tell yourself you need to have coffee with someone, pop by someone's place of work, or send a thank you note to someone you appreciate? I think there are all kinds of ways to keep the fire lit. The key is to take action and remind yourself of why you're doing what you do. It doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be easy. As we all know, we're in uncharted waters and  it may be a while before we turn the corner.

Again, I'd like to hear your suggestions. Today I'm ready and raring to get to work. But who knows about tomorrow? Every day we need to find something that keeps us going. Have an awesome day!

Lead Generation - Lead Generation - Lead Generation - Lead Generation - Lead Generation - Lead Generation - Lead Generation - Lead Generation - Lead Generation - Lead Generation - Lead Generation - Lead Generation.  Doesn't have to be cold calling or door knocking - but talking with others in your business outside of your market area may well spark an idea!

Jeff: I think all those things work. It's amazing how much we can accomplish if we just go to work and keep our head down.

Paul - I do more marketing.- I do mailings, emails, etc.  When times are slow, there is more time to concentrate on these things.  Take Care!  :)

Hi Paul, in a 24/7 world, I just keep working. Between marketing and managing a business, I never slow down.  The paycheck may be a little farther apart, but there is always something to do.  Good luck!

Slow Down?  I time block and prospect every blessed morning Monday through Friday from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m.!  I take a walk for a break for my weekend open house and door knock - inviting the neighbors.  This is the busiest time of the year for me because alot of Realtors start taking off for the holidays!  I have a list of 12 people that want to buy and are waiting for the fall as that is when the most serious deals are made.

Downtime?  The shower.

Thanks, Frank and Jodi! I am so inspired.

Aaron: Thanks for your comments. Good luck to you as well!

Debi: That's exactly what we all should be doing. I'm off to the office to write my thank you's and send out my e-newsletter. Have a great and productive day!

You know this is a time that can challenge many things about ourselves. Our confidence, our faith, our will, our desires. Now is the time that will show all of us what kind of character we have. Its in time of adversity we reallly see what we are made of. Some of us, will cry, quit, put our heads down, complain, and give up. Then there are the few of us, who will get up in the morning, every morning with a renewed sense of urgency. Who will tackle the days activities with vigor, who will be the ultimate optimist, who will look in the mirror and know that you will never give up, never get down and will always be on top of your game. And for those few people, not only will you survive, but you will win, not only in the mortgage game, but also in the game of life.
